The storm devastated Budapest yesterday – will this horrible weather remain? – PHOTO, VIDEO
Yesterday, rainstorms caused disruptions in many parts of the Hungarian capital. Furthermore, it seems that the stormy, windy weather remains with us. That is bad news for those starting their holiday these days.
According to alon.hu, the Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) said on their Facebook page that in districts 2, 3, 11, 12, 22, as well as in districts 16, 17, and the downtown area, people should prepare for restrictions in transport because of yesterday’s storms.
They highlighted that many trees came down because of the strong wind. For example, that is why bus line number 222 circulates on an alternative route. The same applies to bus line number 124. The Hungarian meteorological service shared a video of how the supercell above Budapest was born. You can watch that below:
Budapest északi része az idÅ‘közben böhöm szupercellává formálódott tömbbÅ‘l kapott rendesen… Kommentben küldjetek fotókat, videókat!#nemleszittsemmi #ezeknemtudnaksemmit

In the case of district 21, Csepel, buses and cars cannot circulate because of the never-before-seen amount of water that came down in just minutes on Friday afternoon. Nationwide, emergency management received 84 calls yesterday, most of them from Budapest and Komárom-Esztergom County. Dozens of chimneys and roofs were damaged.
Here is another video about yesterday’s supercell:
Regarding the expected weather for today, idokep.hu said that, despite short sunny periods, one should expect showers and rainstorms everywhere in the country. Moreover, there is a significant chance of stronger storms. The wind is expected to be strong only near rainstorms. Maximums will be around 27-32 degrees Celsius.

AMAZING – waiting for tram late pm Friday – Kossuth Lajos ter, looking over Duna, over top of Batthyany ter – to part of Buda Hill – weather pattern, cloud formation and speed of clouds – Incredible.
Bought back expression I heard years past :
“When the Gods are Angry – the Sky is Full of Thunder Lightening and Rain – there is a Message”
Quite ironic in Fact, waiting at my work place tram stop – to return home, just (3) three stops up the line – Vigado to my house in District 5 – the Parliament Building at my back – couldn’t HELP but Think – is this a MASSIVE Message – to those that occupy the Rooms of Parliament in that Magnificent Building ?
We are in Troubled Times in Hungary – for many quite broadsheet reasons.
WOULD – Prime Minister Victor Orban and his Fidesz Party – re-enact the Heroic “feats” of Baron Miklos Wesselenyi – performed in 1838 Budapest Floods – and – COME – Save and Rescue us ???
Are there any Whirlpools in the Danube – if the Gods are Angry with the Rescuers ?
The Danube – swirling – predominantly greyish in color – UNCOMMON -RARE – complimenting the ANGERED skies above – messages are being sent – POSSIBLE.
Please say the names of the gods you are talking about. I agree with you that God is angry. What could have made him mad? Pride goeth before a fall.
Beautiful day in Göd.
