World-famous cartoon series with Hungarian scenes — VIDEOS, PHOTOS

Perhaps the world’s three most famous cartoon series are The Simpsons, Family Guy, and South Park. The Simpsons has enjoyed unbroken popularity for over 30 seasons and 700 episodes. South Park is has had 23 seasons and more than 300 episodes. At the same time, Family Guy entertained us during 19 seasons and 369 episodes.

Nearly 1500 episodes of the three series cover all sorts of topics. Amidst the many entertaining, thought-provoking parts, it is almost inevitable that Hungarian issues come up from time to time. We present the appearances of Hungary in cartoons with the help of videos and pictures.

In the case of the South Park series, we got used to not being used to refining. An important person in season 20, episode 3, is an internet troll. In a show, you can see in the background that the internet troll’s comment comes from Hungary. However, neither the name nor the joke has anything to do with Hungary; we were probably randomly chosen.

Family Guy is also known for his outspoken style. In this scene, the youngest child, Stewie, is playing tennis. At the end of playing tennis, Stewie’s partner tells him: “You grunt like a Hungarian lesbian.” This scene parodies the moans of the tennis players during the match.

Archer has become almost as popular in recent years as the three major classic cartoon series. In Season 11, the protagonist of the series praises his valet while he eats. The valet notes that the secret ingredient is Hungarian pepper. Sharp-eyed people could spot a Hungarian reference in the sixth season of Archer as well. In a meeting, we can see a doctor on the tv screen. While Russian was written for his nationality, the name of Dr Zoltán Kovács, on the other hand, clearly refers to Hungary. The surname Kovács has been the second most well spread in Hungary for many years. In 2016, more than 200,000 people lived by the name Kovács.

The Simpsons has been running since 1989. This series cannot be left out of the list either. Easter eggs related to Hungary can be seen several times in the series. The most significant is the scene when Homer plays chess, and he wins with the help of the Budapest gambit trick.
