Matild Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Budapest has won in the categories of “Best Hotel Luxury” and “Best Guestroom Luxury” at this year’s Gold Key Awards. The iconic building has undergone a breathtaking transformation in the past 5 years. The interiors were designed by the prestigious MKV Design.

Presented by Boutique Design, the Gold Key Awards for Excellence in Hospitality Design is the industry’s most prestigious awards program, often referred to as “the Oscars of hospitality design”. Awarded each year in November in New York, it rewards the most innovative and most impressive design in hotel and restaurant projects all over the world. In 2021, the Gold Key Awards was organised for the 41st time, and winners were honoured in 24 categories.

At this year’s gala, Matild Palace was selected as the winner of the “Best Hotel Luxury” and “Best Guestroom Luxury” categories.

Located in the beautiful Matild Palace building, the Hungarian luxury hotel in the Luxury Collection portfolio of Marriott International was awarded the title of “Hungary’s Leading Hotel 2021” and was selected as one of the world’s best new hotels on a number of prestigious international travel lists,

Matild Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel

Built in 1902, Matild Palace was developed under the patronage of Her Imperial and Royal Highness Maria Klotild of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha to serve as the social hub of the city. It is a Budapest landmark characterised by a “distinctive ambience representative of its Hungarian heritage”.
