Hungary competition office, OECD hold training for judges in Budapest
Hungary’s competition office (GVH) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) held a training on competition law to judges from 14 European Union member states and Albania, GVH said on Monday.
The two-day session offered insight into EU principles, the practices of competition authorities and the challenges posed by digitalisation to the judiciary, GVH Vice-President András Tóth said in a statement.
Speakers included experts of the Hungarian competition authority, the European Commission, OECD and the Court of Justice of the European Union, he said.
The training, which will continue in November, is in line with the European Union requirement to ensure a wide-ranging judiciary oversight over the decisions of competition authorities, Tóth said.
