New restrictions at MOL petrol stations in Hungary from today!

Change language:
On Friday morning, a new limit of fifty litres of fuel per day has been introduced at MOL petrol stations. From today on, you can only fill up with fifty litres of fuel at low-pressure pumps with Hungarian plates at the official price.
Quantitative limit
According to hirklikk.hu, filling stations with low-pressure pumps allow you to fill up to fifty litres of fuel per day at the official price for a car with Hungarian licence plates. At high-pressure pumps, Hungarian-registered vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of between 3.5 and 7.5 tonnes and agricultural machinery will continue to be able to buy fuel at the official price without any quantitative limit.
In addition, it has been stipulated that, from Friday, petrol or diesel canisters or containers will only be able to be filled with petrol or diesel at market prices.
Market price and how to avoid having to pay more
It is also important to note that if someone fills up both the can and the car, they will be charged the market price in both cases.
“If the refuelling of a vehicle’s fuel tank and external container is carried out at the same time in a single transaction, the market price at the filling station will be applied for the total amount of refuelling,”
