Budapest’s “party tram” ceases operation at some nights
Budapest’s night traffic is to change fundamentally from 23 January until 7 February due to maintenance. Thankfully, only the weekdays are concerned.
According to a statement of the Budapest Transport Company (BKK), tram nr 4-6 will not commute on weekday nights due to maintenance work. The modifications do not concern the weekends, tram will serve the passengers from Friday evening until Sunday night.
The tram replacement bus will commute on Grand Boulevard. It will use the bus stations instead of the tram track and stations. Furthermore, the replacement bus will not stop at the Margaret Bridge station. You will have to walk to Budapest’s most popular island and recreation spot from either the Pest or the Buda bridgehead.
