Magyar Építők, a Hungarian news outlet specializing in construction, shared a video of the renewed castle of Count Széchenyi, the ‘Greatest Hungarian’. Széchenyi built Budapest’s iconic Chain Bridge, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and, among others, introduced horse racing in Hungary after long journeys in England and West Europe.

According to Magyar Építők, the Széchenyi Castle in Nagycenk was renewed in the framework of the National Castle Program, an scheme started and financed by the government. Nagycenk is a small town in West Hungary, in Győr-Moson-Sopron county, close to the Austrian-Hungarian border and Sopron. It is a famous tourist hotspot because the castle offers various cultural, sports and other programs.

They renovated the Baroque new castle, the old castle, the Széchenyi wing, the Flower House, the so-called pandur house and the magnificent park.

Count István Széchenyi was brought up in the castle. His epoch-making works are shown everywhere in the castle. The castle has been a national monument since 2016.
