Here is how fuel prices will change in the coming week in Hungary

From Friday, the price of petrol will rise by HUF 2 gross. Meanwhile, the price of diesel will fall by the same amount per litre in Hungary. Read below to find out what to expect regarding fuel prices in the coming week.

From Friday, the purchase price of petrol and diesel will change. Petrol stations will pay HUF 2 more gross for 95-grade petrol and HUF 2 less gross for diesel, holtankoljak.hu reports.

It is expected that this change will also be reflected in retail prices, resulting in the following average prices:

• the average price of 95 petrol currently: HUF 605 per litre;
• the average price of 95 petrol expected from Friday: HUF 607 per litre;
• the average price of diesel currently: HUF 622 per litre;
• the average price of gas oil expected from Friday: HUF 620 per litre.

Fuel prices may rise or stagnate in the near future

The forint strengthened to 349/USD this week, up 3 percent from 359 forints at the beginning of the week, napi.hu reports. The exchange rate has now corrected somewhat, to stand at 356 forints at the weekend. Overall, this represents a 1 percent strengthening in one week.

The Brent exchange rate was less favourable for fuel users: the price of Brent oil has risen by 4 percent per barrel in a week, to 86 dollars. This makes it more likely that fuel prices will rise in the coming week. Although the steadily strengthening forint means that stagnation is also possible.
