The prisoners of war transported to Hungary have returned to Ukraine
The Ukrainian Embassy in Budapest has returned some of the prisoners of war to Ukraine. They were brought to Hungary two weeks ago through the intercession of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Oleh Nykolenko, spokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, said the three soldiers who were transported to Hungary with the mediation of the Russian Orthodox Church had returned to Ukraine.
Earlier, the Ukrainian government strongly accused Hungary in connection with the incident, and we believe that Viktor Orbán took the role of defender. On Tuesday afternoon, Péter Szijjártó denied that the Hungarian government had anything to do with the case.
“They are already on Ukrainian territory and are receiving all kinds of support,” Nikolenko wrote, adding that they were working to ensure that the other Transcarpathian soldiers who had been transferred to Hungary could return home, index.hu reported.
Also, a photo of the three Transcarpathian soldiers was taken at the Hungarian-Ukrainian border. The picture was published by a Ukrainian government body, the Coordination Centre for Prisoners of War (KSHPPV).
