Staggering: Descendants of Hungarian Turk-beater Kinizsi live among us!

Change language:
All signs point to the fact that Pál Kinizsi, one of the biggest Hungarian historical figures, still has relatives. But who are they?
Excavation in the cemetery of the Szent István church in Nagyvázsony, which started last August, saw its second season this summer, VEOL.hu reports.
The Kinizsi grave research started last August. The researchers want to find the remains of Kinizsi and his successor, Márk Horváth, as well as learn more about the local history of Nagyvázsony. The latter has already been achieved, said Csanád Kandikó, project manager of the excavation.
It is very likely that Nagyvázsony dates back to Árpád’s time, so the village is older than many scientists had thought so far, the expert said.
Historical secret revealed

Csanád Kandikó also reported on a scientific sensation: according to this, all signs point to the Turk-beater Pál Kinizsi still having relatives. It seems precisely that the Kinizsi blood, even if on a sideline, through the mediation of his sister, has survived to this day.
