Insane price hike: that’s what the 2024 Hungarian motorway vignettes will cost
The official Hungarian road tolls have been published. The vignette prices will automatically rise as the value of the Hungarian forint plummets.Â
Since the August 2023 inflation figures are now published, the costs of Hungarian motorway vignettes for 2024 have also been revealed. In recent years, they have been always calculated on the basis of historical prices and inflation.
According to hvg.hu, an increase of 16.4% can be expected. Based on these figures, the most popular D1 motorway vignette prices are as follows:
- 10-day national vignette: HUF 6,400 (EUR 16.6)
- monthly national vignette: HUF 10,360 (EUR 26,9)
- yearly national vignette: HUF 57,260 (EUR 148,4)
- county vignette: HUF 6,660 (EUR 17,3)
In the past, prices did not always rise in line with the regulation, nor did all motorway tolls increase uniformly.
The price of the annual national vignette and the county vignette soared by 5%, while the 10-day vignette rose by 71%, and the monthly pass costs 44% more.
