VIDEO: Hungarian taxi driver enraged near Budapest Airport – shots fired
A taxi driver shot out from his moving car on the expressway leading to Budapest Airport from the Hungarian capital’s downtown. Thankfully, nobody was injured, but the driver may face long years behind bars.
According to index.hu, a taxi driver fired shots while sitting in his car on the expressway connecting Budapest with the Ferenc Liszt International Airport last week. The shooting was recorded, and the driver was fired. His employer dissented from their former employee, and a lawyer believes the man may be sent into prison for long because of his deed.
Based on the news outlet’s information, the driver put his hand out from his moving car and fired three shots, just like in an action movie. The shocking event happened on the expressway near Vecsés, a town between Budapest and its international airport.
Olivér Lakatos, a lawyer talking to TV2, a Hungarian commercial TV channel, about the issue, said he might get a prison sentence. The taxi company fired him after seeing the footage. But nobody knows yet whether his pistol was just an alarm gun or something lethal using live ammunition.

Budapest’s cabbies are the motorized equivalent of Budapest’s cyclists and scooterds: Disproportionately many of them drive like absolute dipsh..s. Just yesterday one couldn’t wait an extra second at Deak Ferenc ter when the light changed, leaned on the horn, peeled out, and illegally passed the car in front. And that’s with dozens of pedestrians on crosswalks nearby. Very scary.
