Explore new places! These are Hungary’s latest “treasures”
Service providers can voluntarily apply for the “Treasures of Hungary” label, and now, new tourist sites have also received this prestigious title.
“Treasures of Hungary”
The Hungarian Tourist Agency Ltd.’s “Treasures of Hungary” trademark can be obtained by service providers operating in various tourism sectors. Service providers can voluntarily apply for this so-called umbrella trademark.
There are currently 8 types of trademarks: spa, thermal bath, wellness bath, adventure bath, castle, castle, waterfront paid beach and waterfront free beach.
Until 7 November 2023, one castle – the Royal Castle of Gödöllő – and five paid beaches on Lake Balaton were the proud owners of the “Treasures of Hungary” trademark. However, on this day, at the general assembly of the Hungarian Bathing Association in Bükfürdő, also a number of spas and health resorts were awarded the “Treasures of Hungary” trademark for the first time in the certification process for tourist attractions, which was launched in early 2023, writes sokszinuvidek.24.hu.
One municipality takes the cake
The municipality of Sárvár received the “Treasures of Hungary” label in four categories. Two areas in the health resort category—the Sárvár Arboretum and the area around Lake Csónakazó—were awarded this distinction. The Sárvár Spa and Wellness Baths were also ranked among the top providers in the spa, adventure bath and wellness bath categories.
Aquarius Nyíregyháza was also awarded the title of “Treasures of Hungary” in the category of adventure baths. Additionally, there were several winners in the spa category, including Sárvár, Hajdúszoboszló, Hévíz and Gyula. In the next two years, we expect to see many more Hungarian gems eligible for the “Treasures of Hungary” title.
