Decision on fuel prices in Hungary: price drop ends from Friday
The latest fuel prices have been announced. For the time being, it looks like the price decrease at petrol stations will stop. On Wednesday, petrol prices fell by HUF 10 and diesel by HUF 20. Unfortunately, this will not be the case again on Friday.
The decline in Hungarian fuel prices is not continuing for the time being, according to a recent data release by holtankoljak.hu.
According to the fuel price monitoring portal, prices at domestic petrol stations will remain stable this week. So the average prices for the second half of the week, starting Friday, will be as follows:
- petrol type 95: HUF 587/l
- diesel: HUF 606/l
Recently, it was announced on Monday that from Wednesday, 15 November, the wholesale price of petrol will be reduced by HUF 10 gross, while the price of diesel will be reduced by HUF 20 gross per litre. Previously, on Wednesday last week, 8 November, the domestic fuel market announced a price change, with a reduction of HUF 8 gross for petrol and HUF 5 gross for diesel, effective from Friday 10 November, vg.hu reports.
Since the end of September, there has been a sustained drop in prices at Hungarian petrol stations. According to vg.hu, this comes as a surprise, given the outbreak of the Palestinian-Israeli war, which analysts had previously predicted could drive up prices on the fuel market.
Instead, over the past month and a half, the price of petrol and diesel has fallen by almost HUF 100-100 gross per litre.
