Want to taste Hungarian wines in Budapest? Come to these Christmas fairs
Budapest Christmas fairs are open for six weeks, promoting traditional Hungarian wines with the help of the Hungarian Wine Marketing Agency. Here is where you can find them.
According to turizmus.com, the Hungarian Wine Marketing Agency (MBÜ) offers multiple opportunities to popularise Hungarian wine products and provide options for people to taste them. Their relevant campaigns started this summer, and Hungarian wines are present at the most important international fairs.
However, you do not have to go that far to find a fine selection of the best Hungarian quality wines. You only have to walk to the Christmas Fair in front of Budapest’s astonishing Saint Stephen’s Basilica (Advent Budapest Christmas Fair). The Hungarian Wine Marketing Agency organises thematic wine tastings each day. Their statement says that they managed to keep prices affordable.
Furthermore, you may buy twenty types of iconic Hungarian wines at their stand. At the weekends, you may receive special surprises with your bottle of wine. As a result, you can collect all your Christmas presents in one place.
You may visit their gastronomy units at the Szent István Square, Vörösmarty Square and the City Park, awaiting guests with wine menus. Anita Pusztai, the marketing director of the MBÜ, highlighted that more than half of the visitors to the Budapest Christmas fairs are foreigners. That creates an excellent opportunity for them to popularise Hungarian wine products.
Hungarian wines will cost much more soon
Meanwhile, Blikk wrote that the price of the Hungarian wines will see a significant increase. Without that, producers can find themselves in a difficult position. That is because winemakers could not raise prices, following the EU-record Hungarian inflation or the increased price of the raw materials, energy, etc. As a result, their profit plummeted in the past few months. Furthermore, grape yields fell behind the average in most places.
The sector provides income for 30-35 thousand Hungarian families.
Hungarian media outlets did not write about the rate of price increase, only that it will be considerable.
Thus, we suggest you get your bottle of premium-quality Hungarian wine as soon as possible because later, you will only find them costing more.
