PHOTOS: Star Wars hero receives memorial in Budapest downtown
The choice is interesting because the hero did not act in a heroic way in many situations. Instead, he was portrayed as a fallible character who regretted some past deeds, but was finally granted absolution because he sacrificed his life for a good purpose.
Cassian Andor is one of the few movie characters whose future fate is already known to the viewer. He must fall because if he does not, it cannot be explained why he does not become one of the leaders in the sequels.
Even though he is not the most benign character of the Star Wars series, the Hungarian Two-Tailed Dog Party (MKKP) thought they would establish a memorial plate for him in Budapest’s 11th district. The place they chose can be considered a direct hit. They inaugurated the commemorating plate in Andor Street (which has nothing to do with the SW character).
Key figure of the rebellion
MKKP said he was one of the key figures of the rebellion. Without him, the rebels would have been doomed. And they are right. If he had not stolen the plans of the Empire’s first Death Star, the Alliance’s base would have been destroyed, and Luke Skywalker would have never met R2, C-3PO and, of course, his first Jedi master, Obi-wan Kenobi.
MKKP wrote on the plate that Cassian Andor sacrificed his life for the liberation of the galaxy from the tyranny of Emperor Palpatine.
Based on their relevant Instagram post, they inaugurated the plate with lightsabers. Below, you may check out the photos:
