Deadly H5N1 virus spreads in Hungary again
The H5N1 avian influenza subtype virus has been identified at a turkey farm in Somogy County, in the southwest of the country, and a goose farm in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County, in the east, food safety authority Nébih said on Thursday.
Close to 3,400 turkeys and almost 3,900 geese are being destroyed at the farms around which protection and surveillance zones have been established.
Bird flu outbreaks have been identified across the country.
