Aeroplex inaugurates aviation components repair base near Budapest Airport
State-owned aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul company Aeroplex inaugurated a HUF 2bn components repair base near Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport on Friday.
Aeroplex, owned by N7 Holding National Defence Industry Innovation, aims to be among the biggest MRO companies in Europe, National Economy Minister Marton Nagy said at the ceremony. He added that 100 people would work at the 7,300sqm base.
Aeroplex managing director Arpad Demeny said there was a big shortage of aviation component repair capacity across Europe.
The new base could handle the repair of up to 20,000 aircraft wheels, 800 brakes and close to 30,000 engine components a year.
