Chinese BYD continues expansion in Hungary

China’s BYD is further expanding its sales and service network in Hungary, opening five new dealerships in the fourth quarter, the company told MTI on Thursday.
In cooperation with BYD, Pappas Auto will operate a new dealership in Budapest, AutoWallis one in Debrecen, JP Auto one in Kecskemet and one in Nyiregyhaza and Autocentrum Szabo one in Szekesfehervar. The dealerships will offer BYD’s entire model range.
BYD currently has dealerships in Budapest, Győr, Pécs and Szeged. BYD is in the process of constructing a manufacturing base in Szeged. The company also moved its European headquarters to Budapest and has announced two R+D programmes with local universities with a value of around EUR 250m.
