Another famous Hollywood superstar spotted in Budapest!
Move over, Jason Momoa – another Hollywood superstar been spotted in the Hungarian capital. This time it’s Travis Fimmel, best known as Ragnar Lothbrok, the fearless Viking farmer, warrior and leader from hit series Vikings. Die-hard fans will also remember him as Anduin Lothar in Warcraft: The Beginning, swinging his sword as the human commander taking on the orc invasion. The Aussie star was recently clocked near one of Budapest’s few free riverside beaches in the city’s 3rd district – sending locals into a frenzy.
Hollywood superstar spotted in Budapest’s 3rd district
After last week’s scorching, muggy weather, the city woke up to cooler but still sunny skies – autumn’s clearly knocking on the door. But while the temps dipped, the celeb sightings heated up.
Fimmel wasn’t there for a swim at the Római beach – one of just three free-to-use beaches in Budapest this summer (Római Plázs, Flava Beach and the up-and-coming Árasztó Beach). The beach has actually been closed for weeks despite the summer vibes.

Fimmel’s in Budapest for the new Dune: Prophecy prequel series, where he plays Desmond Hart. He’s in town with fellow Hollywood superstar Jason Momoa, but fans only spotted him solo at Római yesterday.
A local restaurant, Fellini Római Kultúrbisztró, couldn’t resist sharing the big moment after their staff bumped into the Hollywood superstar.
“If someone had told us Ragnar Lothbrok from Vikings would drop by Fellini… we’d have believed it. Travis Fimmel really was here, and our chef Dénes even managed a selfie!” they posted on Facebook, alongside a cheeky snap.
The Dune cast takes over Budapest
And it’s not just Fimmel. According to Blikk, Budapest is becoming the hottest destination for Hollywood superstars. Zendaya’s been spotted dining out at local restaurants and even splashing out on perfume on swanky Andrássy Avenue. On one outing she was joined by Dune co-star Anya Taylor-Joy, who plays Alia Atreides.
Timothée Chalamet – another Dune darling – has been seen all over the city with girlfriend Kylie Jenner. The pair browsed perfumes at Neroli before cosying up in cafés across the capital.
This isn’t Fimmel’s first Hungarian adventure, either. Local personality Balázs Megyeri – often dubbed the “Hungarian Jason Momoa” – reckons the star feels right at home in Budapest, Blikk reports.

“He’s a proper bon vivant,” Megyeri said. “He’s exploring the city on his own, but we’ve chatted about me showing him some top local spots too.”
Looks like Ragnar’s swapped raiding villages for strolling the streets of Budapest – and the city’s loving it.
