Wolt companies in Hungary fined for violations

The National Authority for Trade and Consumer Protection (NKFH) has fined local units of food delivery company Wolt HUF 200m for violations (EUR 514,674), the watchdog said on Thursday.

Wolt Services Magyarország delivered alcohol and energy drinks to minors, violated rules on the display of discounted prices and failed to inform customers about contact details before issuing a receipt.

Wolt Magyarország’s contact information for complaints was out of date. A probe of Wolt’s local businesses was launched as all big food delivery companies in Hungary came under scrutiny because of an increase in complaints. Food safety and occupational safety probes of Wolt are also underway.

  1. ANy chance of investigating the lying, incompetent slimeballs at U.P.S.? They regularly fail to deliver packages, claiming the address is incomplete or that no-one was home. All that without ever even notifying the receiver of a shipment being inbound. They never answer emails and hardly ever the phone. If they do answer the phone, they assert they are unable to help because…reasons. They then return the shipment to the sender.

Shipping companies in Budapest (Hungary?) are atrocious, but U.P.S. easily surpasses them all… – and not in a good way.
