Goodbye frost, hello sunshine? Hungary set for warmer autumn week ahead
Hungary can expect a mix of sunshine and clouds next week, with slowly rising temperatures bringing milder autumn weather. According to HungaroMet’s forecast released on Sunday, daytime highs will once again reach around 20 degrees Celsius by midweek, and the early morning frosts will come to an end. Scattered showers may occur, and winds will often be brisk or occasionally strong.
Monday: morning fog, showers
Morning fog and low stratus clouds will gradually lift. While some areas, especially in Transdanubia, will start the day with sunshine, more cloud cover will drift in from the northwest as the day progresses. Localised showers are more likely in Transdanubia, while eastern regions will stay drier and sunnier. The north-westerly wind will be brisk, at times strong or even stormy, except in the north-east and south-west. Afternoon highs will range between 13 and 18 degrees, according to met.hu.
Tuesday: mist and fog, wind
Patches of mist and fog may form by dawn. A mix of variable and occasionally dense cloud cover is expected, but there will still be several hours of sunshine. Isolated showers may appear. The northerly wind will be brisk in many areas, sometimes strengthening. Morning lows will be between 4 and 11 degrees, colder in sheltered, clear spots, while daytime temperatures will rise to 13–19 degrees.
Wednesday: sunny weather with clouds
After morning mist and fog patches clear, sunny weather is likely, with cumulus and high clouds. More clouds will arrive from the northwest later, with the chance of light rain in some places. Northerly winds may be brisk, especially in the Great Plain. Temperatures will range from 1–10 degrees at dawn to 15–20 degrees in the afternoon.
Thursday: clouds, sunshine, showers
A mix of variable cloud cover and sunshine is expected, with a small chance of showers. North-westerly and westerly winds could be brisk at times. Morning lows will fall between 3 and 11 degrees, while daytime highs will reach 16–21 degrees.
Friday: cloudy weather and rain
Cloudy weather is expected, with local showers or rain. The north-westerly wind will again be brisk, sometimes strong. Morning temperatures will be 4–12 degrees, rising to 16–22 degrees in the afternoon.
Saturday: cloudy skies and showers
Mostly cloudy skies with a chance of showers are forecast. The north-westerly wind will strengthen in several areas. Lows will be 3–12 degrees, with daytime highs between 14 and 19 degrees.
Sunday: slight chance for rain
Variable cloud cover is expected, with only a slight chance of showers. The north-westerly wind will remain brisk or strong in some places. Morning temperatures will be 4–12 degrees, and afternoon highs 13–18 degrees.
