Hungarian oil and gas giant MOL: Russian oil essential

We continue to insist that at least two full-fledged, reliable pipelines are needed to ensure the secure supply of the region. The Adria pipeline currently only plays a supplementary role and is not up to the task, Hungarian oil and gas company MOL said on Friday.
“Based on our previous estimates and assumptions, if Croatian pipeline operator Janaf could deliver the necessary quantity to the Hungarian border, our refineries would still be able to operate at a maximum efficiency of 80pc, taking into account that product yield varies in the case of certain types of crude,” the company said in a statement.
“We would like to emphasize that Janaf’s capacity and delivery capability are unproven, as was clearly demonstrated by the fact that Janaf was unable to deliver the ordered quantity on time yesterday. This further increases the uncertainty regarding the real capacity of the Adria pipeline,” MOL added.

MOL: capacity tests controversial
The company said Janaf has not yet shared the results of the condition assessment of the Croatian section of the pipeline and the maintenance plan. “For now, we do not know anything about the Croatian section of the Adria pipeline beyond the controversial capacity tests and delayed deliveries”.
