The United Arab Emirates (UAE) hosted its National Day reception on December 1, 2025, at the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest. The event drew ambassadors, politicians, scientists, and friends of the Emirates.

​Historic bilateral ties

UAE Ambassador Saud Al-Shamsi delivered the opening speech, emphasizing the strengthening bilateral ties between Hungary and the UAE. Al-Shamsi highlighted the landmark 2025 state visit by UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Hungary, the first of its kind. Over a dozen agreements were signed during the visit, spanning multiple sectors. Keynote by Hungarian Defence Minister

Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, Hungary’s Minister of Defence, served as the guest of honour. In his address, he stressed defense cooperation while identifying education, artificial intelligence, and energy storage as pivotal areas for collaboration. These fields align with ongoing Hungarian priorities in modernization and technology.​

Festive Reception

Following the speeches, attendees enjoyed a reception in the museum’s Romanian Hall, featuring predominantly Arabic cuisine.

The event celebrated shared values and future prospects amid robust diplomatic engagement.

  1. Hungary is demonstrating, again, how the world can work in harmony – you do not flood your country with immigrants, but, rather, work to make each others’ countries more successful, so the people will be happy where they are.
