Another airline serving Budapest passengers promises unlimited inflight internet

Passengers on flights from Budapest will soon enjoy unlimited inflight internet access, requiring only a simple registration. The service, however, will be rolled out gradually.

According to airportal.hu, citing a statement from the Dutch carrier KLM, the facility is already available on more than half of its European routes operated by Airbus A321neos, Embraer E195s, and Boeing 737s. Moreover, the rollout is ongoing, and it will soon extend to the entire fleet. KLM opted for this upgrade precisely because its narrow-body aircraft lack onboard entertainment systems.

What to do to use the unlimited inflight internet

During flights, free and unlimited internet will be provided; passengers need only claim a complimentary Flying Blue frequent flyer card, using its number to log in via their smart devices.

Stephanie Putzeist, KLM’s head of customer experience, said of the innovation: “We have wanted to introduce this for a long time, as we continuously monitor our passengers’ wishes—and it has long topped the list.”

KLM is steadily renewing its fleet: last year, 12 new Airbus A321neos arrived, several of which now fly regularly to Budapest. The airline operates numerous daily services between Budapest and Amsterdam, flown by Embraer 190s, Boeing 737s, and Airbus A321neos.
