Michelin Hungaria To Shut Down Outdated Plant In Budapest
Budapest, May 6 (MTI) – Michelin Hungaria today said it will shut down its outdated plant in Budapest.
The plant employs 512 of Michelin Hungaria’s 1,650 workers.
Michelin Hungaria is closing the plant, which is operating at 70 percent capacity at present, because of a shrinking market for truck tyres. The plant’s location does not make a modernisation economically feasible, the tyre maker added.
Michelin Hungaria said it would continue to make Super Sport tyres at its factory in Nyiregyhaza (NE Hungary) and remained committed to its logistics base near Budapest and trade unit in Tuzser (NE Hungary).
