Orbán awarded Man of the Year at Krynica Forum
Krynica (MTI) – Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was awarded Man of the Year at the Krynica economic forum, in southern Poland.
After collecting the award late on Tuesday, Orbán said he could have named many other people who deserved the award. Recent years have witnessed “the first steps of a renaissance in central Europe,” he said, adding that “there are many excellent colleagues in the Visegrad group.”
The peoples of central Europe must preserve their religious, ethnic and historical identities, which he described as “a protecting armour” that aids survival and can bring success. “It is communities with a strong identity that will be successful,” he added.
He highlighted the importance of friendship between Hungary and Poland as well as good relations between their peoples and leaders.
Igor Janke, a Polish political scientist who has written a monograph about Orbán, said in his laudation that Orbán had demonstrated during his career that, given the chance, change can always be made.
“He is a strong, decisive and brave politician and only people like him can succeed in making changes in difficult situations such as the current one,” he added.
The award was granted to Orban by Polish counterpart Beata Szydlo.

In a year when leadership in one country took a holiday !!
A beacon of light was shone to alert the unwary to ‘Preserve’ the historical link of culture and heritage and of a shared and often painful experience of nationhood !
And the outstandingly courageous and outspoken beacon of that light of patriotism is Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban !
He has been consistant and unwavering as a true leader to present his country’s realistic view of the organised illegal immigration, that has beset Europe in this recent time.
Congatulations Prime Minister Viktor Orban for your service to Hungary and Europe.
And as “Man of The Year” Award at the Krynica Forum ! It is “Richly deserved” !
