Ádám Lang moves to the French first division

Dijon FCO and Videoton FC have agreed on the defender continuing his career with the French first division club. The transfer was authorised by FIFA on Monday afternoon, vidi.hu reports.

The 23 year old from Veszprém, Hungary moved to Videoton last June and made 36 appearances and scored 2 goals for Vidi. His last match for Videoton saw him score twice in a 5-1 win against Debrecen. He has been capped 15 times by Hungary and played in all of the matches at the European Championships in France during the summer.

Mlsz.hu webportal said, the Ligue 1 team registered Lang’s official documents just minutes before the midnight deadline on August 31st and FIFA have now confirmed the 23-year-old centre-back will be able to continue his club career in France.

Lang will return from the Faroe Islands today with the rest of the Hungary national squad before immediately linking up with his new clubmates in France who are enjoying their first season with Dijon in the French top tier.

“We received an offer for Ádám Lang, which we could not say no to. The French club will be paying a serious transfer fee for the international defender. We have managed to sell another one of our players to a top European league. Videoton FC can be proud of this. Adam understandably wanted to try his luck abroad, so I feel that everyone can be pleased with this transfer. I would like to thank him in the name of Vidi for his performances and the good work he carried out for our club” – commented Zoltán Kovács, director of football for Videoton FC.
