TODAY – The Night of The Museums
This weekend is all about the Night of the Museums. This nationwide event will let all the art lovers to indulge in the cultural ephemera starting from the early sunset hours. This report will focus on the programs outside Budapest.
GYŐR
The Rómer Flóris Művészeti és Történeti Múzeum in Győr is definitely among must-sees of this year. On June 21stall the visitors will become a part of the dynamic experience, called „Vivid Colors”. From 18-30 this museum will make sure you will fall under the spell of masterpeices, exhibited in 11 different locations. Apátúr House has been completely renovated recently; this will be the very first opportunity for organizers to reveal the remarkable transformation of this iconic Győr attraction. Other locations will host numerous workshop sessions, DJ sets and live music performances, and retrospective exhibitions. In Esterházy Palace children and adults will become a part of the spectacular manufacturing session of secession-style glass, Fruhmann House awaits guests for guided tours through the historic exhibition, Rómer Terem will blur borders of reality with its “Fairy tale here, fairy tale there” exhibition. BUDAPEST
East and West Railway Stations will offer some unique opportunities during the Night of the Museums weekend. Steam engines and train cars, which are not available for a public display throughout the year, will now be opened for all the visitors. These masterpieces have stood the test of time and held its beauty forever. In the West Railway Station guests will be able to take photos of the iconic trains. With a little help of modern technology visitors will be able to discovery the allure of railroad trips and take at look at the trains like (Aranycsapat) Gold Team, the Kando, Gabor Aronand etc.
On Saturday Deák Ferenc Mansion and Museum will host a guided tour, during which guests will watch an amazing live performance and listen to some anecdotes, in where actors will be dressed in the costumes, defining the Deák era. On the way back to the museum visitors will be offered to try some quintessential Hungarian beef stew, authentic Magyar pálinka and some local wine. The next day Kehida thermal baths will open its doors for those, who are looing for a short retreat.
PAKS
Paksi Városi Múzeum is a great destination for those visitors, who are looking for an engaging experience. For over 20 years now the Museum of Paks has been a source of inspiration for everyone with intellectual curiousities. For the upcoming Night of the Museums there will be family-friendly exhibitions, majority of which will mark the 100thanniversary of the World War I. The photo exhibition will present works of the great master, war correspondent; these pieces are echoes from the battlefields. A brass band performance is will bring even more excitement to the exhibition. In the museum café visitors can taste some culinary masterpieces, which are based on the century-old recipes and listen to the soft piano music.

DUNA
On June 21st, Duna-Dráva National Park promises a string of interactive opportunities for those visitors, who would like to participate in cave tours and adventures. A vast variety of programs will be help in several locations: in the town of Abaliget, in the Abaliget cave, and Denevér museum. Diverse exhibitions will give a glimpse of the fascinating and magically seductive world of caves. The Abaliget cave and Denevér museumwill offer 50% discount for all its visitors.

TATA
In Tata, Kuny Domokos Museum will recreate the times of Turkish invasion. There will be guided tours to dungeons and visitors will be able to watch the recreated siege of Tata, and a gun show. Apart from these programs, guests will be able to listen to the traditional Turkish music, played by Arasinda band. In the main building of Tatabanya Museum opens a temporary exhibition, which will display part of the gun collection form Déri Museum of Debrecen. As a part of Gyurkovich exhibition drama workshops will be held for children. On Saturday, visitors can visit an open-air museum, dedicated to the mining traditions of the region. From 6 pm till 8 pm there will be free-guided tours for those, who would like to learn more about mining.
