World’s richest Hungarian man opens bank in Hungary
Interactive Bank has been registered in Hungary with effect from 1 March 2023, Portfolio has noticed. The founder is the brokerage firm of the Hungarian man considered the richest, Tamás Péterffy.
The founding owner is Tamás Péterffy’s company, the Greenwich-based Interactive Brokers LLc. The company resides in the US. Mr Péterffy is estimated to be the richest Hungarian man in the world, with assets of over USD 24 billion, Portfolio reports.

The Budapest-based brokerage firm currently provides investment services to Germany and the markets of the EU member states to the east and south-east of it. It offers services to retail and institutional investors as well as brokerage firms.
According to the latest available data for 2021, Interactive Brokers has achieved net sales of HUF 15.7 billion. However, as its customer base is growing at a double-digit rate year on year, both figures could be much higher in 2022, Portfolio writes.
