Apple Intelligence finally arrives in Hungary: everything you need to know

Change language:

Apple Intelligence will debut across the European Union, including Hungary—though there’s a drawback. Its launch has been anything but smooth: although Apple first introduced its AI service suite last June, the official release was significantly delayed. It didn’t reach the U.S. until October, bundled with iOS 18.1. The iPhone 16 series, launched in September, was advertised as Apple Intelligence-ready, but owners had to wait an extra month after purchase for the update.

Apple Intelligence will arrive in EU

For users outside the U.S.—including those in the EU—the wait was even longer: at first, all anyone knew was that Apple Intelligence wouldn’t be available before 2024. Only later did Apple confirm a spring 2025 launch window, targeting April. Now, the company has announced that Apple Intelligence will arrive in EU countries, including Hungary, in April as part of iOS 18.4.

Although the first beta of iOS 18.4 has been out for a few days, issues seem to have led to the withdrawal of some devices from the testing program. And the good news about the release also comes with a disappointment: Apple Intelligence still won’t support English, so users remain stuck with the same Siri capabilities introduced in 2011. Although the service will add support for more languages in April—French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and some localized English—Hungarian is not on the list. There’s no indication when that might change, despite competitors already offering some AI features in Hungarian.

Meanwhile, an upgraded Siri is still on the horizon, but Apple hasn’t shared any details. According to GSMArena, this suggests the new Siri may not arrive with iOS 18.4 either, leaving users in the dark as to when they can expect further enhancements.
