Argentine World Cup champion Alberto Tarantini visits Hungary to celebrate sports and diplomacy
Budapest is happy to welcome the 1978 World Champion Player, Mr Alberto “Conejo” Tarantini, who will be present at the Urania Cinema in Budapest in September to meet fans.

Mr Tarantini will present the film “Muchachos” at the traditional Urania Cinema in Budapest on 6 September, where he will sign autographs and greet football fans. This film portrays the passionate and profound relationship that the Argentinean fans have with their national football team, the identification and the deeply rooted significance that this team has in the Argentinean identity.
These actions have strongly boosted exchanges in the field of sports, highlighting the importance of this issue in the bilateral agenda in the framework of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of bilateral relations.
The Argentine Embassy organised the visit of Alberto Tarantini to Budapest with the support of the Hungarian Association of Football Players, the Hungarian Fair Play Committee and the Puskás Academy, as well as sponsors and Argentine exporting companies.
Tarantini attended the Hungarian Footballers Association Gala in Budapest – with the presence of Hungarian players from the 1978 World Cup, gave talks to young sportsmen, watched a Hungarian League football match, gave interviews to the Hungarian press, visited the Puskás Sports Academy and met with outstanding Hungarian sportsmen, in order to promote the Argentinean sports culture among young Hungarians and to internationalise Argentinean football institutions, highlighting the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Argentina and Hungary.
