Attention: Public transport changes in Budapest today
Several tram services in Budapest are changing on Tuesday. Trams 2, 2B and 23 will not run on the downtown section from 8 PM on Tuesday evening due to maintenance.
According to the Budapest Transport Centre (BKK), tram number 2 will only run between Jászai Mari Square and Széchenyi István Square. Meanwhile, the number 2 replacement bus will be available between Széchenyi István Square and Közvágóhíd. Trams 2B and 23 run from Pesterzsébet and Keleti Railway Station to Közvágóhíd.
Trams 2B and 23 can be changed at the junction Haller Street-Soroksári Street.
In addition to the replacement bus, there are several alternative travel options in the city centre. The M3 and M4 metro lines, the tram lines of the Grand Boulevard (Nagykörút) and the Small Boulevard (Kiskörút), and bus No 15 are recommended by BKK.
Boráros Square can also be reached by buses 54, 55, 223E and 224 from the Közvágóhíd, BKK said in their statement sent to MTI.
From Wednesday, trams will run again on the entire line.
