Belgian Three Corners hotel chain expands with 5th location in Budapest – photos
The newest addition to Budapest’s hospitality scene, the four-star Three Corners Avenue Hotel, officially opened on October 3rd. This marks the city’s fifth property of the Belgian Three Corners hotel chain.
5th Three Corners hotel in Budapest
The hotel has been welcoming guests since the summer, located in the bustling Broadway district of Pest, at the intersection of Nagymező Street and Paulay Ede Street. It was designed to blend Budapest’s rich historical heritage with modern luxury seamlessly. The building itself dates back to 1886 and has a storied history, having served as a hotel in the 1920s, later becoming home to the Terézváros Wine House, and at one point, hosting the offices of Autóker.
At the grand opening, Didier Lambrecht, General Manager of Three Corners Hotels & Resorts, emphasized the careful balance between old and new:
“When designing and renovating this building, we were meticulous in ensuring that modern luxury and elegance blend harmoniously with the building’s past and historic exterior. Today’s travelers seek more than just a place to sleep; they want a complete experience. The Three Corners Avenue Hotel offers that experience, right in the heart of vibrant Budapest.”
The event was also attended by Jeroen Vergeylen, Belgium’s Ambassador to Hungary, and Tamás Flesch, President of the Association of Hungarian Hotels and Restaurants (MSZÉSZ), who both delivered speeches. Among the notable guests was Cécile Lambrecht, the founder of Three Corners Hotels & Resorts.
Following the official ribbon-cutting, invited guests enjoyed guided tours of the property, where they explored the individually designed rooms and the hotel’s stylish common areas, turizmus.com said.
Three Corners Avenue Hotel, Budapest
The Three Corners Avenue Hotel features two newly constructed floors, bringing the total to 64 guest rooms. In addition, the hotel boasts an exclusive meeting room, a catering unit, and a cozy sauna. Interior designer Csilla Kelemen infused the rooms with a timeless elegance while maintaining a sense of comfort. The design enhances the sense of space by incorporating semi-private bathrooms with no full walls or doors separating them from the bedroom.
In addition to offering accommodation, the hotel has also become a new hotspot in the theatre district. The on-site Mabelle Café serves both hotel guests and the general public. Zsolt Héni, the hotel manager, explained that Mabelle’s philosophy revolves around pairing the best of both worlds, which is reflected in the café’s offerings. The name itself combines the words “MAgyar,” “BELga,” and “LEgacy.” The menu features a fusion of Hungarian and Belgian flavors, offering Belgian beers, Hungarian wines, handcrafted Belgian pralines, Belgian cheeses, and Hungarian ham. Visitors can also enjoy a selection of more than 50 different gin and tonic cocktails. The opening evening was made even more memorable with a special menu prepared by chef Márk Virgha, highlighting both Hungarian and Belgian culinary traditions.
The Three Corners Avenue Hotel is committed to sustainability, meeting the evolving needs of eco-conscious guests. For example, rooms are equipped with free filtered water, a water station is available on-site, and guests can purchase reusable water bottles at reception.
Three Corners Hotels & Resorts operates properties in two main destinations: Egypt’s Red Sea coast and Budapest. The chain’s portfolio currently includes 12 hotels with more than 2,500 rooms in total.
