Best outdoor yoga places in Budapest
Now that spring and good weather are here, you might want to spend more time outside. If you feel like you’re bursting with energy and want to prepare for swimsuit season while enjoying the sun, these outdoor yoga classes are just for you!
Budapest offers several opportunities to try doing yoga outside. Some places organise one-time classes that you have to sign up for, others are a permanent part of summer. No matter which one you choose, though, you are guaranteed to have fun!
1. President Rooftop Yoga
The rooftop bar of Hotel President is the highest rooftop terrace in Budapest. In fact, it used to be a helicopter tarmac! Nowadays, though, it is home to more classical events. This Saturday, on May 19th, there will be a yoga class held on the rooftop, accompanied by piano music such as “Claire de Lune” or the soundtrack of “Amélie”. Although you’re supposed to focus on yourself while doing yoga, checking out the scenery is a must before or after class! Just bring your own yoga mat, 3500 Forints (11 EUR) for the admission and enjoy this unique experience!
2. Le Bistro Yoga
The event taking place at the end of May, on the 26th, near Kopaszi Dyke, promises to be a full experience. After the 90-minute yoga session to relaxing melodies in the fresh air on the river bank, you’ll have the opportunity to cool down on the terrace of the Le Bistro restaurant while having a glass of lemonade or Prosecco. All this is included in the 3500-Forint (11 EUR) admission price.
3. Margaret Island Yoga
The yoga sessions on Margaret Island are a  permanent fixture of spring and summer in Budapest. You can visit them every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 pm, or every Sunday between 10 and 12:30. It is a good idea to bring your mat or a towel here too, but the great thing about these sessions is that they are donation-based, meaning you pay as little or as much as your wallet allows. Bring along some food, too, as after the yoga practice is over, people often have a little lunch there on the lawn, having an impromptu picnic while starting friendly chats and building a community. It is definitely worth checking out at least once!
If you want something even more relaxing, definitely check out this post!
