BREAKING: Bomb alert at Budapest Airport
An abandoned package caused a disturbance at Budapest Airport, which led to a bomb threat at Terminal 2A. As per protocol, the affected area was evacuated. The necessary screening was completed in just 11 minutes. After that, everything resumed as normal.
There was a bomb alert at Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport on Wednesday morning, Blikk reported. The terminal had to be unexpectedly evacuated due to an unattended baggage, causing inconvenience to travellers for less than half an hour.
The tabloid contacted Budapest Airport Plc. The following reply was received: “The check-in area of Terminal 2A had to be evacuated due to an abandoned bag, in accordance with the relevant protocol. The necessary screening was carried out between 08:09 AM and 08:20 AM and the alert was negative. Passenger handling then resumed as normal.”
