Brutal accident happened during Budapest’s Sziget Festival – PHOTO
The accident happened yesterday during one of Central Europe’s biggest open-air festivals, Budapest’s Sziget.
According to hvg.hu, an acrobat fell on Friday afternoon when an element of a hoist came off in the circus tent. The media outlet said the artist stood on the hoist when the structure loosened, pinched her leg and fell with her. As a result, she plummeted about six metres.
The young girl is a member of the French La Burrasca circus company. According to borsonline.hu, she suffered multiple fractures on both her legs. Therefore, doctors are now struggling to save them from being amputated. Since she was stuck in the structure for 20 minutes, her legs were seriously injured.
The venue was the Cirque du Sziget, a tent of 1,000 places, where multiple companies perform daily. Here is a photo of the member of the French company:
