Budapest Airport had a great year, with this many passengers in 2023
Budapest Airport welcomed more than 14 million passengers in 2023.
According to Budapest Airport statistics, the airport served a total of 14,701,080 arrivals and departures last year. This passenger volume was +2,496,010 passengers (+20.45%) higher than last year, while the airport is 1,472,409 passengers (10.1%) behind the absolute record year of 2019. That’s about a summer month of strong monthly passenger numbers, which could easily be made up this year, Budflyer says on its Facebook page.
Serving more than 14 million passengers, 108,068 landing and take-off operations were required.
The total volume of air cargo handled was 200,000 tonnes, an absolute annual record. This figure illustrates Cargo City’s role as a major hub for air cargo in the region and already in Europe. This figure could rise further as another expansion phase of Cargo City is completed.
