Sandy tropical paradise Budapest beach opened with unchanged prices – PHOTOS
Budapest’s tropical paradise beach will not raise prices, and will not change last year’s price reductions. Furthermore, you will be able to buy budget beach foods. Beach season started at Lupa today. Here is everything you should know.
Getting there remains easy and comfortable
According to Szeretlek Magyarország, Lupa Beach, Budapest’s tropical paradise, opened today. The place is not far from Budapest, on the shores of a natural lake. You can get there quickly: by public transport, you should take No 5 HÉV to Budakalász station and from there, it’s about a 20-minute walk, or you can take the electric Lupa minibus from the Budakalász HÉV stop. A ride on the minibus costs HUF 1,500 (EUR 3.85).
No 5 HÉV starts its journey from downtown, the Batthyány Square, the square opposite the Hungarian Parliament on the Buda side.
By car, take the main road 11 towards Szentendre, turn right towards the Danube at the Lupa-island junction – on the Lupaszigeti road – and follow the signs to the car park at the main entrance. It is only a 25-30-minute-long journey.
Finally, you can bike there from Budapest. The Eurovelo 6 leads directly to the bike entrance, where you can access the free bike parking. If you prefer to cycle less, take the HÉV to Budakalász or the Lupa bus, as you can transport your bicycle on both.
Sandy tropical paradise Budapest beach: unique and budget-friendly offers
Today, the first 50 beachgoers could enter for free. Entrance will remain free for children under 12 during the entire season. Furthermore, there are price reductions for young people and pensioners (HUF 2000, EUR 5), while the adult single ticket is HUF 3,000 (EUR 8). After 4 PM, you may buy a “sunset” ticket 30% below the price.
The gastronomy menu of the Budapest beach Lupa will become more colourful this year. Probably the most popular change will be the introduction of budget beach foods.
Lupa Budapest Beach offers numerous activities for every age group. The “Vidámpart” (Happy Beach) awaits families with kids with its shallow waters, water dodgem, trampoline and bounce house.
The Quadro Watersport awaits you with Flyboard and Jetpack. You may also try the Giant Banana, the Slider, the Crazy UFO and the Giant Doughnut. Those aiming for calmer activities can choose SUPs or the grande slide.
There are several beach sports you may try, from beach football to volleyball.
