Budapest party tram service changes from weekend
Due to track maintenance starting this Saturday, the popular Budapest party tram nr 4-6 will commute differently, and replacement buses will carry the passengers in some segments. But the Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) recommends alternatives for those who would not like to travel by tram.
Budapest party tram under maintenance
According to hirado.hu, people may use replacement buses between 13 and 20 July, between the Oktogon and the Harminckettesek tere tram stations. Those travelling between the Nyugati railway station and the Corvin District can use metro line M3. If you come downtown from the Széll Kálmán Square, you may catch metro line M2. From Óbuda (3rd district), you may travel by trams 19 and 41 and transfer to metro line M2.
The track maintenance work will happen in Blaha Lujza Square, Margaret Bridge, and Podmaniczky Street.
Tram nr 6 will not commute at nights
Between 20 and 21 July (Saturday and Sunday), tram nr 4-6 will only commute to the Harminckettesek tere station from South Buda. Between the Széll Kálmán Square and the Harminckettesek tere station, buses will carry passengers. From 22 July until 4 August, the maintenance work will continue. BKK promised information concerning that period later.
Moreover, from 12 July until 5 August, tram nr 6 will not commute on the entire line. Instead, you may take the replacement bus nr 6.
BKK recommends everybody plan their route with the help of their BudapestGO app.
Tram nr 4-6 is often called Budapest party tram because it connects the party districts of the downtown.
