Budapest Transport Company receives huge fine
The Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) has to pay a fine for an improper public procurement procedure. They have been fined around HUF 60 million (EUR 162,678).
The Budapest branch of Fidesz shared the news of the HUF 60 million fine on its social media page.
BKK has “violated the rules” in the tender for the production, supply and operation of ticket vending machines, they write in the Facebook post.
Another fine for the renovation of the Chain Bridge
Another fine is expected for the renovation of the Chain Bridge because they failed to register subcontractors in time, the writer of the post added. They also wrote that “it is no wonder that there is no money left in Budapest”.
The organisation said that “this is the balance sheet of the left: they constantly make mistakes, they simply cannot or do not want to avoid irregularities”.
Including the latest fine, a total of almost HUF 300 million (EUR 813,379) has already been lost due to irregular public procurement, napi.hu reports.
Gergely Karácsony was asked, “Shouldn’t you rather surround yourself with consultants who don’t scrounge around for money, but help Budapest’s development with their work?”

No business in Hungary can conduct its’ operations and meet regulations set down arbitrarily without notice by the Fidesz government. I spoke with a farmer who said new regulations were just imposed by the Fidesz government with no prior notice on what percentage of their fields must be left fallow this year. Farmers had already planted and many of them are now liable for penalties that the government can now impose on whoever they want in an arbitrary fashion. You better hope you have good relations with the local Fidesz leadership. I spoke with a business owner from the Budapest area who moved his head office to Slovakia because government regulations and taxation is oppressive and he told me many other businesses doing the same. This government is killing production and in turn its’ own revenue base.
Orban goons continue to punish Budapest citizens for not supporting g him. This bully will never win them over with these obvious attempts at destroying the gem of Hungary.
