Bus crash tragedy in Italy – Bodies of bus crash victims expected to arrive Friday
Budapest (MTI) – The bodies of the 16 Hungarians who died in a bus crash in Italy earlier this month are expected to be transported to Hungary on Friday, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó told public news channel M1.
The death certificates will be issued by the local authority that has jurisdiction over the motorway section on which the accident occurred, he said.
The bus carrying students and teachers of the Szinyei Merse Pál Secondary School in Budapest, as well as family members, crashed and caught fire on the Venice-Verona motorway just before midnight on Jan. 20.
Once the necessary documents are issued, the bodies may be transported to Hungary as early as Thursday, but more likely on Friday, Szijjártó added.
