Attention: Timetable changes on Budapest-Vienna railway line
From Friday onwards, the spring reconstruction works of the Budapest-Győr-Hegyeshalom-Vienna railway line (Budapest-Vienna railway line) between Herceghalom and Bicske will continue, the Hungarian State Railways (MÁV) announced on its website.
On the Budapest-Győr-Hegyeshalom line, maintenance work has been carried out between Bicske and Szárliget in the second phase of the spring retrofitting work, from the end of April until Thursday, 9 May.
The next phase, from 10 May to 31 May, will see the technicians and machinery move to the track between Herceghalom and Bicske,
Timetable changes on the Budapest-Vienna railway line
As stated, similar to the previous two phases, the work will include track and switch adjustments, ballast replacement, as well as track tension release and overhead line maintenance.
From 10 May, the timetable on the Budapest-Győr-Hegyeshalom line will change again. This will affect the S10, S12 and G10 trains, the InterRegio Győr and Szombathely on Sunday, the Savaria ICs in Szombathely and the InterCity Sopron, as well as the international trains Dráva and Mura ICs.
During maintenance, you should expect a 5-10, sometimes 10-30, minute longer journey time on the Budapest-Vienna railway line.
