BYD in Hungary
According to HellóMagyar, these electric cars are already available for pre-order. Furthermore, they are being distributed through two dealerships: Wallis Motor in Pest and Duna Autó in Buda. You can check out the latest models in their showrooms. There are plans to establish a network of a minimum of 20 dealerships within the next two years. Michael Shu, the General Manager and Managing Director of BYD Europe, expressed that it is of special significance for the manufacturer that their electric cars are now available in Hungary. He also highlighted the enduring connection with the country, thanks to the presence of the BYD eBus factory in Komárom.
A turning point in the nation’s transportation
BYD aspires to bring a major turning point to the country’s transportation by making it more sustainable. The company is optimistic that its products will thrive due to their competitive pricing and cutting-edge designs. Initially, BYD will introduce three models to the Hungarian market: SEAL, DOLPHIN and ATTO3. These models embody advanced electric car technology and sustainability. All new vehicles come with a 6-year or 150,000-kilometre warranty. Furthermore, the energy storage battery is guaranteed for 8 years or 200,000 kilometres. Additionally, the company offers a 24-hour roadside assistance service and has begun establishing a nationwide service network. We previously reported HERE that strict parking regulations are set to be implemented in Budapest.
BYD’s presence in the industry
Founded in 1995 as a battery manufacturer, the Chinese conglomerate BYD has since diversified its portfolio to encompass various sectors, including automotive, rail, new energy and electronics. BYD boasts a global presence, with operations in numerous countries across the world. The brand maintains more than 30 industrial parks in China, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Hungary and India. Its endeavours in the production of plug-in vehicles span six continents, reaching over 70 countries and 400 cities. According to MTI, BYD recorded sales of 6.887 million vehicles last year, signifying a remarkable 93% increase. The manufacturer anticipates further growth for the current year.
