Closure of busy Budapest bridge may cause traffic chaos in the next 40 days

Due to compulsory renovation, authorities closed one lane in the Pest direction of the Árpád Bridge in Budapest. The work will last for 40 days.
According to infostart.hu, the reason behind the current project is the exchange of the bridge’s dilatation structure. Traffic will be able to use two lanes on the bridge, but there will be a speed restriction of 30 km/h. Between 10 PM and 5 AM, another lane will be closed in the Pest direction after the Margaret Bridge exit.
Public transport vehicles will commute according to their timetable even during the construction work. The Budapest Közút implemented dilatation reparations and bridge insulation works last autumn at the Elizabeth Bridge. Furthermore, they did so on the overpass of Kacsóh Pongrác Street and Hungária Promenade.
Since the Árpád Bridge is one of the busiest overpasses over the Danube, the next 40 days may see many traffic jams in Northern Budapest.
