Further high-rise buildings in Budapest

Apart from the 120 metres high tower block in district XI, other high-rise buildings can be established throughout Budapest, reports magyaridok.hu. A 16-storey tower is built as the first stage of the Agora Budapest development in district XIII, but some buildings higher than that can be finished until 2023 with a maximum height of 90 metres.

According to HB Reavis, the Agora Tower built in the first stage of Agora Budapest will be a 16-storey building and around 65 metres high. The company developing in district XIII, at the place of the former bus station and furniture shop near the metro station Árpád híd, added: the buildings of the second stage of Agora Budapest are still in a planning stage. Several professional forums, national and international architects, urban designers and the authorities support it.

The company mentioned that the current regulation determines the maximum height of the high-rise buildings in 90 metres. The building called Agora hub to be built first as part of the city-development will offer the largest uninterrupted office space in Budapest with its 4500 square metres storeys. Agora hub got the building permit in March, while the permits of the other buildings are still in progress. HB Reavis informed the public that the construction of the first buildings started in the first quarter of 2017 and will probably be finished at the end of 2018, while the opening of the last building is planned to be in 2023.

The already mentioned 65 metres high Agora Tower will be built in the first stage as the second building of the development. It also turned out that a number of plans were presented in front of the council in charge which contained concepts of high-rise builgings of various height. These will be built in the second stage, so they will probably be finished until 2023.

As for the future, the property development company added: the urban structure and architectural values of Budapest justifies the existence of high-rise buildings only in a few places, thus these buildings can adapt themselves to only some certain surroundings, which factor is entirely respected by HB Reavis.

Another such construction is taking place in Újbuda, westwards of Kopaszi Dam, in Lágymányosi Bay, as Property Market is planning to construct a high-rise building of 120 metres height. The investment called BudaPart will result in 2000-2500 flats on 230-300 thousand square metres. The territory, which remains of the 500 thousand square metres will host offices, car parks, while a small commercial area will also be created for local needs.
