PHOTOS: Hungarians in New Zealand, Australia preserve their identity

“Every Hungarian counts”, whether in Hungary, in the Carpathian Basin or among the diaspora, Árpád János Potápi, the state secretary in charge of policies for Hungarian communities abroad, told MTI on Saturday, winding up a visit to Australia and New Zealand.

Potápi said he visited with the heads of Hungarian organisations in Christchurch and Auckland. He added that 4,000-5,000 Hungarians live in New Zealand, even some who emigrated in 1956. Potápi also visited Gold Coast and Sydney, in Australia, during his week-and-a-half visit.

  1. “Hungarians in New Zealand, Australia preserve their identity”. Yes, even those who are also LGBTQI community members.

Over there, they are free from government persecution, they have equal rights.

Here, at home, this government treats them all as pedophiles, as people who should be reviled.
