Cultural Ties Supporting Business Cooperation, Says Balog in Istanbul
Budapest (MTI) – Economic cooperation between Hungary and Turkey could be promoted through cultural ties, Zoltan Balog, Hungary’s human resources minister, told MTI by phone on Saturday.
Speaking after opening the Hungarian stand at the 33rd Istanbul Book Fair, Balog said that “business cooperation between two countries will be more fruitful on foundations of culture and confidence”. The minister added that
linking cultural identity to business interests was a crucial component in the government’s eastern opening policy.
Comparing Hungary to Turkey, Balog said that Hungary was as much a bridge between Eastern and Western Europe as Turkey was linking Europe and Asia.
Hungary is the guest of honour country at the international book fair running until November 16.
