Dana plant groundbreaking ceremony in Győr
Győr (MTI) – Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó attended the groundbreaking ceremony of a 46 million euro gear plant to be built by US-based Dana in Győr, in western Hungary, on Wednesday.
At the ceremony, Szijjártó said that the Hungarian government will support construction of the 13,000 sqm plant with a grant of 2.9 billion forints (EUR 9.4m).
Dana’s local unit has been present in Hungary since 2005. It has three plants in Győr, employing about 600 people.
The fourth plant will employ about 200 people, said Dana Light Vehicle Driveline Technologies head Bob Pyle.
Production will start next January, with annual output expected to reach more than 50,000 units, Dana Light Vehicle Driveline Technologies managing director for Europe Arjan Birk added.
Dana Hungary supplies Land Rover, Volkswagen, Jaguar, John Deere, Ford, General Motors and Manitou.
