Missing section of Danube cycle path in Budapest can be built soon

The road building authority has green-lighted a 3.5km section of the cycle path along the River Danube in the 4th district of Budapest, a section of the Eurovelo 6 international route, Budapest transport company BKK said on Tuesday.

The investment will ensure a safe and swift connection the city centre and to the 4th district, as well as providing an uninterrupted connection to the cycle path in the direction of the Danube Bend and the northern border via the towns of Vac and Szob, BKK said. It will also ease the commute of those cycling from the northern suburbs around Dunakeszi to Budapest workplaces, it added.
